Rapids 16U Boys Volleyball team

We have 14 young men on our team and the goal is to have ALL of them go to the US Nationals in Reno. Helping us is an opportunity to support and elevate young athletes at a high level as well as help us represent Canada.

About this project

Can you help us with our RENO for RAPIDS campaign?

It is an opportunity to support and elevate young athletes at a high level as well as help us represent Canada. The Niagara Rapids are proven winners and have earned their place to compete with North Americas best volleyball players. This is a wonderful life event for these young men.

Project Impact

Use of project funds

The flight, hotel and food costs will run approximately $1,000 per person. We have 14 players, 14 parents s well as the coach and assistant coach.

Project milestones

We will be hosting a number of events over the next few months. Our premier event will be a Wine and Chocolate pairing at Caroline Cellars who are a local winery in Niagara on the Lake. There are 4 days (March 2, 24, April 13 and 14) where Caroline Cellars is donating their facilities to help us reach our goal. We will be selling tickets; 2 for $25 or $15 each.

Each session will be half an hour in length with a maximum of 60 people. It includes a tasting of 4 wines (1 White, 1 Dry Rose, 1 Red and 1 Ice Wine) paired with 3 chocolates. The chocolate is good quality made specifically for pairing with wine. Customers will get to sample 3; 1 milk, 1 dark and 1 white.

Rapids 16U Boys Volleyball team

We recently competed in a tournament in Rochester, New York. There were 25 teams there including top ranked teams from the US. We defeated the second ranked team in the US to earn a spot in the US Nationals in Reno, Nevada, June 30 to July 3, 2013. We are the only Canadian team for our age group.
